Dezeen Showroom: global architecture firm Gensler collaborated with The Good Plastic Company to produce a new nature-informed range of the brand’s Polygood recycled plastic panels.
The Growth collection reimagines traditional surface materials such as marble and terrazzo using The Good Plastic Company’s signature technique of pressing recycled plastic into panels that can be used for surfacing bartops, tabletops, reception desks and other structures.

The collection features eight patterns – Cliff, Oyster, Pebble, Midnight, Pumice, Frost, Gossamer and Haze – all of them in neutral colours that appear drawn from the earth.
Oyster and Pebble look like they’re made of densely packed fragments of stone, while Midnight recalls a subtle jet-black marble, and Cliff has an almost crystalline pattern.

One hundred percent recycled and recyclable, The Polygood Growth panels are made from post-consumer and post-industrial waste, with elements from discarded refrigerators, washing machine enclosures and consumer electronics creating accents in the mix.
“The series celebrates the natural world, creating an immersive, tactile experience that is beautiful, versatile and adaptable across many design styles and project types,” said Gensler principal and design director Mark Morton.
