At 64, Bernard McGuirk, former radio host, and Imus In The Morning producer, has died

After a long battle with prostate cancer, Bernard McGuirk (famous WABC radio host) passed away at the age of 64.

McGuirk died in the presence of his family on Oct 5. McGuirk leaves behind his wife Carol and two children Melanie and Brendan.

McGuirk was a Bronx graduate of the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale. He had been the host of “Bernie & Sid in Morning” since 1986. He also served as the executive producer of Imus in The Morning with Don Imus for many years.

He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him and listened. A true gentleman, he was the heart of the morning show. “He is the morning show and was a backbone of this whole radio station,” Chad Lopez (President of Red Apple Media) stated in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the McGuirk family. Tuesday will be a tribute show in honor of Bernard McGuirk’s life.
